Paint prices in Türkiye should be compared by the exact product, pack size and required coverage, while a painting quotation must also account for preparation, primer and labour. A tin price alone cannot tell you what it will cost to repaint a room. This guide replaces the old 2023 overview with a dated price example, a quantity calculation and a checklist for comparable quotations.
Price check: 17 October 2026. Filli Boya's official page lists Momento Silan 7.5 L at TRY 3,648, described as a recommended price including VAT. This is one manufacturer's listed product example, not a market average or an SMD installation quotation. Confirm the selected colour, finish, seller, stock, delivery and final price before ordering.
Compare the same product and unit
Start with the product's full name and code. Interior wall paint, ceiling paint, exterior coating and a furniture refinishing product are different specifications. Do not compare them only because all are described as paint. The intended substrate, finish, cleaning requirements and application instructions should suit the job.
For the official example above, TRY 3,648 divided by 7.5 L equals TRY 486.40 per litre. This is a simple unit-price calculation; it does not measure performance or prove which product is better value. A more expensive tin may cover a different area or require a different preparation system. Also keep kilograms and litres separate: conversion requires the specific product's density.
Measure the surface that will actually be painted
Wall area and floor area are different. For a simple rectangular room, gross wall area can be calculated as perimeter multiplied by wall height. Measure ceilings, recesses and other painted surfaces separately. Record how openings are treated in the quotation so two contractors are pricing the same scope.
For example, a 4 m by 5 m room with a 2.8 m wall height has a perimeter of 18 m and a gross wall area of 50.4 m². Its ceiling is 20 m². These are geometry examples, before deductions and site allowances; they are not a final material order or a labour quantity agreed with a contractor.
Use the manufacturer's coverage correctly
Where coverage is stated for one coat, the basic calculation is: litres = painted area × number of coats ÷ coverage in m²/L per coat. Check the technical sheet carefully: if a figure already describes a completed multi-coat system, do not multiply the coats a second time.
Filli Boya's Momento Silan technical sheet gives 13–22 m²/L for one coat, depending on surface conditions, and calls for a controlled sample to determine actual consumption. On paper, 100 m² with two coats would therefore use about 9.1–15.4 L of finish paint before any project allowance. Primer is separate. The range illustrates why a single coverage promise can be misleading; test the actual surface and follow the selected product's current instructions.
Round the order to available pack sizes only after confirming the application system. Keep an agreed amount for future touch-ups, labelled with the product, colour code and batch details. Do not assume that two unrelated colours or product lines will perform identically.
Separate material price from the complete job
| Quotation item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Surface preparation | Cleaning, removal of loose paint, repairs and sanding; agree how unforeseen defects are handled. |
| Primer and finish | Named products, colours, coat system, pack quantities and manufacturer instructions. |
| Labour and protection | Furniture protection, masking, access, application, cleaning and occupied-room constraints. |
| Commercial scope | VAT treatment, delivery, exclusions, validity date, payment stages and acceptance procedure. |
A low material price may come with a different scope rather than a better offer. Compare written quotations line by line. Ask whether the contractor has inspected the surface, measured the same areas and included the same protection and repairs. A nationwide installed price per square metre would conceal these differences, so this guide does not present one as a reliable quote for your project.
Choose colour and finish in the actual room
Test samples beside the floor, curtains and furniture, then view them in daylight and under the room's evening lighting. A screen image is useful for narrowing choices, but it does not confirm the final colour. Agree the product, colour code and finish in writing before full application.
Investigate active dampness, peeling or other substrate defects before covering them. Follow the product label and safety sheet for ventilation, handling and application. Decorative paint should not be presented as a guaranteed remedy for an unresolved building defect.
Information to send with a quote request
- City, room use and whether the property will be occupied during the work.
- Dimensions, ceiling height and photographs of all affected surfaces.
- Existing paint condition, proposed colour change and any visible defects.
- Walls, ceilings, woodwork or metalwork included in the scope.
- Furniture protection, access restrictions and preferred timing.
- Required product specification and the basis for comparing offers.
